Pearls are measured by their width. For example a pearl that is 13.8mm wide and 14.1mm long, would be priced as a 13.8mm pearl, not as a more expensive 14.1mm pearl
Pearls are the only Gem created by a living creature. Being a product of nature they come in a variety of Shapes, Colours, Lustres, Sizes and Surface marks.
